Our next stop was in Chefchaouen, were we decided to stay for a day and a night.

Moulay Abdessalam's mausoleum, in the Rif mountains, was our next stop. The drive was gorgeous and winding. In between photographs, I took notes of the views for the novel series I'm writing, hoping to inject realism into my descriptions of the landscapes, many of which are based on Morocco. Along the way, we spotted cows, a turtle, and goats! We also enjoyed a little break from driving at the well of Imam Abu Hassan al-Shadhili, where we made wudu alongside some bees.

Our roadtrip around Morocco continued with a stop in Salé (to visit the mausoleum of Sidi Bin Achir) and a sleepover in Tangier in a riad, a traditional Moroccan home.
