We then visited the 'private' areas of the house. The bathrooms were so cool! The shower had a chandelier!
The fountain room (as I name it) was gorgeous and my favourite area, bar the magnificent library (first image in the slideshow above).
Despite having lived in Toronto for half my life, I had never been to Casa Loma. So when I decided to take my friend out, we chose to go somewhere neither of us had been to before, instead of just to the mall like we usually do. It was a delight! Here are some of the highlights. Most of the ground floor was an exercise in dramatic lighting...
The bedrooms were decadent. The blue one was my favourite, hence the repeated photos of it!
Have you been to Casa Loma? If not, go! It's well priced and gorgeous, even more so in the summer.

I recently visited the Royal Ontario Museum with a group of close friends, which was an experience, since I've only ever been with family or one friend at a time. We lost each other pretty often. Here are some photos! I tried a new editing style: lower contrast and cooler tones. I like the effect on white statues. Especially since museum lighting makes everything very warm and yellow looking.

I honestly forgot I had these photos.

You ever have those photos that aren't, y'know, the greatest but still have that something that just makes you like it? I don't know if it's just nostalgia on my part that then doesn't carry over to viewers. But here are a selection of photos that when I see them, they still carry that mood from when I took them. Tell me what you think?
Olden Days
So what do you think? Is there a certain mood you get from these, or your own, photos? Comment and let me know!

I was bored, and it had been a while since I'd picked up my camera. So, I tried to see my room in a new light, and photograph it as more interesting than it really was. Do you think I succeeded? Comment below and let me know!

At last, 10,000 years later, I update this poor and lonely website. If only I had some comments to motivate me, (hint, hint). Anyway, Buskerfest was awesome this year because I managed to actually see some of the acts. Usually the crowd is taller than me, but this time I got to stand in front.
Then I got to watch, and more importantly, clearly photograph this awesome performance!

The drive there...
The family and I drove up to Bruce Peninsula on a semi-rainy day to celebrate our religious holiday. Despite the ominous skies, the sun did shine a little, and despite the temperature, we went swimming! Here are some highlights of the trip, in which, like the monkey I am, I climbed some cliffs for the view and scared my mom to death, among other things.
The clouds were dramatic, and I matched them by being a drama queen about how late we were in setting out. I don't know why, since we're rarely on time for outings anyway. My mom kept saying, 'It's the journey, not the destination!" "Well", I replied, "I want the destination, thank you very much." In any case, we arrived after (roughly) three hours of driving. Bickering and laughing, we decided to have lunch.
Fish and Chips and Pretty Things
Then we walked on the pier because the sun had come out and we all needed heating up. We had beavertails, but my fingers were too covered in chocolate to take a photo of it.

And then finally, finally, we headed for the trails, for the hiking and the woods and the cliffs and the beach. FINALLY!
Into the Woods
i don't have the nd filter necessary for this effect, but it was cloudy enough for me to get misty water without it being over-bright

super friendly chipmunk that followed us about!
After that extremely satisfying walk, in which I got left behind a lot while searching for the perfect composition, and discovered that forest photography is hard unless you find leading lines to add cohesiveness to your image, we got to the beach. I love this beach, with its rocks and cliffs and pebbles.

And so ended our day trip, which despite my incessant bratty attitude, was amazing.

I'd never thought a day would come in which I'd call pigeons cute. But, come on, how could you ever have expected this!
Completely ignoring the couple's shamelessness, their companions deigned to pose for me. Apparently, pretty pigeons do exist in abundance.
There is a hint of green in the ruff...
I can't help thinking of the Renaissance painting of Henry VIII here...
Waddle waddle...
And then like a memory, they flew away...

I'm alive! Well, this summer has been crazy, but I do have some photos to share. About a month ago I went to the Toronto Zoo with my friend, excited to use my zoom lens there for the first time. Through meticulous planning and the obsessive use of a map, we managed to see all but two of the exhibits in the three hours we had until closing.
Here are my favourites of the many, many photos I took.
